A tech collaboration with one of the most prestigious sporting championships in the world.

100 years through the lens of Centre Court

At 4 Church Road, Wimbledon Park, London, lies the most photographed patch of grass in history. Spanning 78 by 36 feet, it’s been the stage for not only the oldest tennis tournament in the world but a progression of historical, social, and cultural change. The challenge? To turn 100 years of Centre Court history into high-end digital artworks available on the blockchain.

With creative agency Daylight, I worked with Wimbledon to create a collection of 10 NFT artworks that captured each decade of the last 100 years. Working with expert archivists, calligraphers and retouchers, we dove through time and tennis’ illustrious history to tell the stories of each decade, unearthing the tales, trials and tribulations of the game’s greatest stars.

The campaign totalled over 100 pieces of collateral, ranging from social posts, Q&As with sporting stars, to countdown clips, to the NFTs themselves.

These were then repurposed as billboards used internationally to promote the project, as well as content for the e-commerce blockchain site.
